Yesterday we had a monumental breakthrough at my house, my oldest daughter finally sucked up a spider with the vacuum!

The weather is starting to get a bit warmer here in NW Montana down in the lower elevations and the Spiders are starting to come out.
After much crying, and running away from it I was able to finally get her to calm down and walk her through the process, that and I threatened a good ole grounding if she didn’t handle the task at hand. Call me old fashion but threats of grounding sure made me think twice when I was a kid!
Everything went off without a hitch. Baby spider is now tucked away somewhere in the vacuum bag mass of dust, dirt and girl hair. Or is it…? They could survive you know. Just watch the video below and you’ll see…
Our particular house spider was all of a few centimeters wide. It was just a young buck. Newly emerged from it’s winter slumber. Not the spider in the above picture in case you are wondering. I probably would shoot that spider with my rifle if I saw it.
For all of you who hate spiders which is probably most, you probably hate just as much if not more the act of having to actually kill and dispose of them. Usually my son and I are the go to spider killers but I’m trying to teach my daughters they really are scared of us and killing them is pretty straight forward and easy.
We’re not really into ethical release of spiders here. Sorry Spiders.
I am very thankful we don’t have spiders like in the below video in Montana! And this guy said it’s just a baby. Awww it’s so cute. Make sure to watch the close up video shot.
